“Darkness & Light” European Solo Tour for 2026
Renowned progressive rock musician and songwriter Neal Morse joins us as part of his Darkness & Light European Tour 2026, marking his return to a solo touring format across Europe for the first time since 2018.
Widely regarded as one of the leading figures in modern progressive rock, Morse first gained international recognition in 1992 as the founder of Spock's Beard, which he formed with his brother Alan. The band quickly became a driving force in the ‘90s prog revival, releasing a series of critically acclaimed albums that established Morse as a distinctive voice in the genre.
In 1999, Morse joined Mike Portnoy, co-founder of Dream Theater, along with Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings and Pete Trewavas of Marillion, to form the prog supergroup Transatlantic, further cementing his global reputation.
Reflecting on his previous solo run, Morse recalls the unique connection created by a stripped-down performance style. “The last time I played a run of solo shows in Europe was back in 2018. That was a great time and I really enjoyed the ‘back to my roots’ feeling of just having a guitar, a keyboard, the music and the audience,” he says. “It’s fun playing big band shows and Morsefest events with all of the gear and production - but it’s also a great experience to unite with the audience in a simpler setup.”
Over the past few years, Morse has explored a more intimate singer-songwriter direction with the albums Late Bloomer and Never Been Down This Road. Continuing this creative path, his upcoming album Darkness & Light, scheduled for release later in 2026, promises new musical twists while staying rooted in that personal songwriting approach.
The upcoming European tour will showcase material from these recent releases, along with songs drawn from the wide range of bands and projects Morse has been involved in throughout his career.
Fans can expect a highly interactive experience. During his 2018 solo tour, Morse performed a different setlist every night - often including covers and even audience requests - and he plans to bring that same spontaneity back in 2026.
“So if you’re coming to a show,” Morse says, “come prepared to join in, sing, and shout out for your favourite songs. No promises - but I’ll see what I can do!”
